Waves of fun

Hello everyone !

I'm here today to show a little step-by-step. How about a summer layout ?

Here is what I used  :

-         Blue paper (Scrapabilities)
-         Pink paper (The Paper Studio)
-         White cardstock
-         Two green washi tapes (one large, one small)
-         Faber-Castell artist pen Big Brush in skyblue and cobalt green
-         Border acrylic stamp (Inkadinkado)
-         Faber-Castell white Gelato
-         White ink (Colorbox)
-         White acrylic paint
-         White gel pen (Sakkura)
-         4 corners (Jolee’s Boutique)
-         turquoise glitter gel pen (optional)
-         adhesives (Glossy accent by Ranger, Scotch ATG)

  1. Make a square with the large green washi tape, ¼” apart from the edges.
  2. Tear the edges of the pink paper to have approx. a 11”x11” square. Place it over the washi square.
  3. Using the big brush pen cobalt green and skyblue, ink the border stamp, and stamp below the edges of the pink square.

  1. Make a square at the bottom of the stamped border with the small green washi tape. Add the white corners.Write your journaling on the washi tape with a white gel pen.

  1. Mark lightly the place of your picture with a pen. Draw intricate spirals around with a white gelato. Ink in white the spirals (you can use your fingertip for a more precise application). Spray few small drops of white paint inside the square of green washi.

  1. Distress the edges of your picture (scissors or distress tool). Place it in the center of your page.
  2. Place your title above and under the picture. I drew mine on white paper with a turquoise glitter gel pen and the “Art Brewery” font using SCAL and a die-cutting machine, but you can use any pre-made alphabet.
  3. Nothing more. You’re done.

Feeling Sketchy inspiration post

Hello everybody !

I'm here today to share a little trick for the Feeling Sketchy blog. Here is what you will need :

Yep, just some pieces of paper and glossy accents. Ok joking. You will also need beads, crystals, glitter, laces. Just punch several small circles, adhere what ever you like on it and cover generously with glossy accents, enough to make a big bubble of glue. It does take a lot to dry. You could see the result above. On the left corner, with glitter (added before the glossy for the pink ones, and after for the dark green one), beads on the right, and laces at the bottom) :

I use them as flower centers or as small embellishments on my layout.

I made a video, it's in French but I add english caption for you...

See you for another crafty project soon !

Hello !

Here today to share (with you and the readers of the Color-Me-Scrappy blog) a super quick video about matching your crystal with your project :

I didn't have the right color for the match box I made for the G45 DT call, so I used this trick. It worked perfectly with black too...

Prima Marketing April challenge

Bonjour !

For today's layout, I used the last sketch of the Prima's blog :

BAP april 2014 mani

and ended up with this :

I play with my new Prima stencils. One with red distress ink over gesso on the recollections paper, the other one with blue glitter gel pen. Yes, the blue flowers came from a stencil... I use the same pen to decorate the flower (Prima Marketing). Inkadinkado stamp for the LOVE banner, Scrapabilities for the blue glitter frame, and Melody Rossy glitter overlays. A DCWV sticker take place of my journaling inside the pink overlay.

So let me count. I got  :
- the stichting
- the roundish patterns
- 3 rectangles
- stamps
- title on one side.

Sure doesn't look like the sketch, but I did use it... Are you gonna play too ?

"Like Father Like Daughter" layout

Hello !

I've been looking at my old pictures recently and decided to print some of them for scrapbooking. I found this cute picture of my daughter and my husband in Vegas. They look so alike both, the title couldn't be different.

I scraplift a layout from the "Scrap Lifting" blog (they have a DT call and I do like scraplift layout...).

The background paper is a white paper cover with pink roses from the Modern Bouquet papers pad (Recollections). I first inked over a flourish mask (blue distress ink and mask by Tim Holtz), then add white Gesso with a spatula and over a Tim Holtz stencil (faded dots). After spraying some Smooch ink, I used a Prima Marketing stencil with modeling paste with blue paint. I distress with edge with scissors before adhering it to a blue Bella Blvd paper with some laces (Hobby Lobby).
I did layered papers (DCWV, Recollections) distressed with Gesso, stamps and scissors, add embellishments (Recollections, Making Memories) and flowers (Prima Marketing, I Am roses), as well as my lovely butterflies from Dubai and home made embellishments (clay with Martha Stewart mold).
Title cut from DCWV paper with an electronic cutter.

Love the result, hope you like it too.
See ya !

Easter layout

Hi everyone !

I will show you today the layout I made for the new "C'est magnifique" kits challenge. I am always inspired by the sketch they proposed and this one made no exception :

I have to tell you, I was lazy at cutting my picture in an oval shape. I couldn't find one shape fitting my picture, and didn't want to make a template for it. So I just use my plain picture. And I also reverse the sketch....

The background is a S.E.I. paper. I used Prima Marketing masks with embossing paste mixed with paint. The leaves have been cut with my Big Shot and a Sizzix die into a K&Company paper. Flowers by Prima Marketing and leaves by Petaloo. Thickers for the title. Washi tapes by Echo Park and MME.
The journaling part is writen with an embossing pen and embossed with a yellow Zing powder.

I will enter this layout into the S.E.I. Flower Power challenge.

Have  a great Monday !
