"busted" layout

Hello !

A new layout for my Istanbul album ! This picture was taken in a turkish cafe, at tea time (gouter for us Frenchies), and these two choose the chocolate fondue, of course...
So I keep the chocolate as a color, and use the decor of the cafe for the yellow and blue.

You can see the Finnabair doilies stencil (Prima Marketing), as well as the Tim holtz one (faded dots) with Colorbox ink. BoBunny chipboards, flowers (Prima Marketing and I Am roses), a heart doilie found at Hobby Lobby in the cake section...

Another Prima stencil with modeling paste. You can see also pastel yellow and teak wall chalks (Prima Marketing), vintage photo distress ink (Tim Holtz). Papers by Recollections, stamps by Autumn Leaves, Inkadinkado...

I will enter this layout in the May Tic Tac Toe challenge (Rochelle Spears blog) for the line Masking-Leaves-Chipboard, and in the May challenge Simple Pleasures from the Berry71bleu blog.

Have a good day !

Art Nouveau frame

Hi everyone !

You maybe noticed that I lived in Scotland since last September now. I found a lot of inspiration here in the architecture of Aberdeen. You can see Art Nouveau everywhere and it's well preserved. That's what inspired me for this frame with a picture of my youngest :

I used my Cricut Expression, the Art Nouveau and the Fancy Frame cartridges, cardstocks by Cardstock Warehouse Paper Co., foam mounting squares by Front Porch Treasures, and Glossy Accents (Ranger).
You can find the steps to create this frame on the pages 61-62 of the Cricut Magazine April 2014.

Hope you like it !

Liebster Award

Hello everyone !

I was nominated by Solange J. (Isbaha home) for the Liebster Award. That's very kind of her, and even if I was nominated last year, I still have a blog with under 200 followers, and I will play again because it's fun... Thank you Solange !
The Liebster award is given to bloggers who have less than 200 followers. It's a way to bring attention to these blogs and build the blogging community.

Here are the rules :
1. Thanks the blogger who nominates you.
2. Answer the questions she asks of you.
3. List 11 random facts about yourself.
4. Nominate up to 10 bloggers with less than 200 followers.
5. Ask these bloggers 10 questions of your own.
6. Let them know you have nominated them.

So here are some random facts about me :
1. I am a French expatriate.
2. I did follow a long cursus in psychology.
3. I have a rescue dog.
4. I love to travel.
5. My favorite flowers are lilac, lilly of the valey and violet.

7. I litteraly spend all my day in my scraproom (except for my chores time).
8. I started snowboarding at 40.
9. My favorite cake is a "Fraisier" (kinf of french strawberry shortcake, but better)
10. I always make silly song for everyday small things (like my favorite "I don't want to" or "Will you please dress you up).
11. When I call for lunch or dinner, the first to come is the dog.

And my answers to Solange's questions :

1. Who is your favorite scrapbooker? I like a lot of talented ones, but one of my favorite is Finnabair.
2. Who is your favorite no-celeb scrapbooker (not on a manufacturer/kit club DT)? Again difficult choice, but one of them is Michele Kovac, strong mom and delicate scrapbooker.
3. What is your favorite technique right now ? Stenciling
4. What is your favorite embellishment? Flowers
5. What is your favorite brand? Prima Marketing
6. Share one of your favorite project. I love one of the layout of my daughters on the beach
7. Have you ever take an online scrapbooking class, and if so, what was your favorite one? Never.
8. Share your process about journaling, any tips? Journaling is the most difficult part for me, because I don't want to reduce the picture into few words.
9. Have you ever make a scrapbooking tutorial, and if so, please, share! Few of tips video on YouTube.
10. Which scrapbooking related question would you have liked I asked? When did you started scrapbooking ?

Help get down my stash giveaway

Why would I give away my stuff ? Because I'm moving ! Again ! Meaning I need to pack all my treasures... That will be hard because right now I got stuff EVERYWHERE ! Not enough storage to make this place neat... See for yourself :

No. I'm not an hoarder. I just don't like to rush to the craft store every time I'm starting a layout. Plus here in Aberdeen, craft stores are very expensive and far away for my home.

So about downsizing...I will give to one lucky winner this great prize :

You can see Prima Marketing flowers, Freckled Fawn heart rhinestones, Bella Blvd flowers, Heidi Swapp white damask sticker, Faber-Castell white and black gelatos, TPC Studio fabric buttons, and Paperbliss chipboard and tags !

What you have to do to win this package is creating a post on your blog with a picture of your favorite craft from my blog (look at the top for the layout, card, altered objects and mini books tabs) and a link to my blog.  Use the Inlink tool at the bottom of this post to enter this giveaway before the 10th of June. Being a follower of my blog (Bloglovin, Google Friend Connect or Google+) is not required but very appreciated.

Good luck everyone ! You will have until the 10th of June to play !

Altered sunglasses

Bonjour !

I hope you have a sunny day, because I have the perfect sunglasses for you !

Last year I saw an advertising in an European magazine for a famous Italian designer. The models (one of them was Monica Bellucci, one of my favourite actress) had beautiful sunglasses with flowers, and I said to myself : "I can make these !"
So back to my scraproom, I plug in my Cricut with the Flower shoppe cartridge, pull off some Bella Blvd papers and pearl flourishes and Voila !
You can find the steps to create this project in the Cricut Simple & Stylish (April 2014, p21-22).

Have a wonderful day !

Color Me Scrappy Challenge #62

Hi everyone,

This is the new color board from Color-Me-Scrappy. It could be great for a boy/man layout :

But of course I had to make a girly one !

I used a Basic Grey floral paper and a brown American craft paper, with a K&Company border. I also embossed a Prima Marketing stamp with silver powder , and add the die-cut title.

I did check, I got all the colors of the challenge. But it wouldn't be my layout if I hadn't some pink in it, right ?

Don't forget to play with us at Color-Me-Scrappy for a grab prize !

See you soon for another project...

DIY Enamel dots

Hi everyone !

I've seen few times this trick on the web, and I did try it for you : DIY enamel dots. This will be my inspiration post for the Feeling Sketchy blog.
You will need fusible beads, an oven and a cookie sheet with parchemin paper.

Place the fusible beads on the parchemin paper, and put it in the oven at maximum heat for few minutes.

Watch closely the beads, when they look like half pearls, they're ready :

Let them cool completely and you will have new enamel dots !

You can make bigger dots by melting several beads together.

Have fun !

Tutorial : big stamped flower

Hey !

Remember those big flowers on the layout I made for Color-me-scrappy ?
Here is the how-to...

You will need white paper, an acrylic block, a petal stamp (here Inkadinkado), black ink (Memento) and markers (Copic RV00, RV91, RV34)

When the stamped petal is dry, start coloring your petal.

It doesn't matter if the ink overflows the image, you will cut it out anyway.Make a bunch of them (about 30 give or take).

Punch a small circle out of the white paper and start gluying your petal round it.

Oups, I forgot to tell you to bend each petal. I did use a McGill stylet for that.

When you have done the first round of petals, start gluying the second alternatively.

For the last round, make two cut at the base of the petals. It will be easier for you to place them in the center.

Finish your flower by placing a pearl or a crystal or anything you want to make a center.

TADA ! That was easy ! You turn now...

Feeling Sketchy layout challenge #89

Hi everyone !

I have a new layout to share with you ! I use the Feeling Sketchy sketch to create it :

I had a lot of fun playing with my stamp wheel (Inkadinkado), embossing powder (Zing), gelato (Faber-Castell) and paint !

I really want to use gelato more, but I think I'm using too bright colors for it. Here I used the white one, but I had to add some white ink to obtain the result I wanted. The good point is the gelato add a distress effect on the embossing.
Pink paper by Bella Blvd and flowers by Prima Marketing.

This month, the challenges are sponsored by Molossi and Trinket Track. So hit your scrap table to create and win !

I'm just back from a big trip to Istanbul, so you will see soon some pictures and comments about it. Stay tune !

Color Me Scrappy challenge #61

Hello fellows !

Another layout to share, inspired by the color board of Color Me Scrappy blog :

First I did think of something shabby and sweet, but then I founded the perfect paper in my stash and it went in a totally different way...

The paper (S.E.I.) has already 4 colors of the board, plus a big word I decided to keep as a title (left upper corner). "Jolie" means pretty in French. So I use an Inkadinkado stamp (originally made for the stamp gear) to create the flower. I stamped each petal then colored them one by one... The fern leaves are stamped too (Colorbox ink). The two little tags on the side of each picture are one Martha Stewart tag stamped with Colorbox chalk ink, cut in half, with stamped sentiments (G Studio).

I will share soon a small tutorial about these big flowers...While you are waiting, why didn't you create a layout with these colors and play at CMS ?

Feeling Sketchy challenge #88

Hi !

I use the new sketch to make a special card. But firs the sketch for the Feeling Sketchy challenge sponsored by Molossi and Bugaboo :

When I saw the stamp in the Bugaboo store, I immediately think it will be perfect for this sketch, and my thoughts went directly to my dear friend who has struggled with the fight. Let see the result :

Recollections black paper, lace and ribbon from Hobby Lobby, Bugaboo stamp, and my Brother TZ Tape for the "we love you" sentiment. I used washi tape behind the bra (I cut out the inside of the bra and place white cardstock with washi behind). The pink ribbon on the stamp was colored with watercolour pencils.
I hope you like and you will be inspired to make some cards for the one you love who are fighting breast cancer.
