C'est Magnifique Kit August challenge

Hello everyone !

I've been away from my blog lately for some good and not so good reasons : kids, family, road trip, and robbery (they break into my home...). I'm still pretty busy until the second week of September (remodeling work, gardening and school), but I did manage to create a layout for the C'est Magnifique Kit blog :

Materials :

My well-loved K&Company papers, Prima Marketing stencils, coffee bean spray ink by Inkadinkado, vintage photo distress ink by Tim Holtz, I Am Roses flowers and leaves, Dylusions white ink spray, Maya Road twine, Sticko alpha stickers, and a plaster key I just find yesterday in a closing store.

I can't wait for August to be finished... We are remodeing our attic to have a gameroom and a SCRAPROOM ! I was creating on the kitchen or on the floor since 2 months now, and am really sick of it. I will show you picture of this new room soon...

Have a nice day !

Color-Me-Scrappy challenge #68

Hello !

This new CMS challenge is all about summer ! The twist is to include something representing summer for you. Take a look at the color board :

For me, summer means France, because even if I am French, I didn't leave in my country for several years, and our family was going back every summer to our French home. But most of it, summer means mountains, the French Alps, where we go each time we could. So my summer layout will feature a picture of one of my daughter, running in the mountain meadow.

Can you ear the music of "The little house in the prairie" ? That's what this picture make me think about.
What do we have in this layout ? 2 sheets of Recollections papers, Copics markers and Liquid Pearls. Text is print white over brown strip and cut in a shape of banners. I add a little bit of vintage distress ink on the back (Tim Holtz).
Of course, I had to cut every flowers and every leaves, colored them one by one, before re-arranging them on the dotted paper. Took me forever...

Scrapbook Generations has generously offered a $50 gift certificate to one of our winner, so come and play on the CMS blog !

On the road again...

On Monday, I was on a road trip to Bretagne to see friends from Houston before they leave again for another country. We had a perfect day by the sea and I want to share with you some pictures of a beautiful shore :

It was a huge tide, so the sea was very low and all the boats were on the floor.

I love all these colors. what a great day we had !

See you soon for more pictures, of a day in Parc Asterix two after this stop in Bretagne...

A day in Provence...

On Monday, we take a tour in one of the most beautiful village in France : Les Baux de Provence. It's a small village on the top of a cliff, with a Middle Age castle and a fantastic view. I have few pictures for you :

We also went to the "Klimt and Vienne" exhibition inside the "Carrieres de Lumiere", an old white limestone mine converted into an art gallery.
My broken toe screamed at the end the afternoon, but it was a great day !

Summer is not a good time for scrapbooking : too hot, many friends and family visiting, children constantly at home... but I will show you something soon...

Have a wonderful day !

Color-Me-Scrappy challenge 67

That was a real challenge for me to put all these colors together !

But I finally did it :

papers : Sprinkles&Laces by Bella blvd, Que Sera Sera by K&Company, The Goods by American Crafts, c.d.g
washi tapes : We R Memory Keepers, Doddlebugs design Inc.
pen : PITT artist pen by Faber-Castell
acrylic stamps : Menhdi borders by Inkadinkado, Autumn Leaves
acrylic paint : DecoArt
chalk : Prima Marketing
stencil : Tim holtz
chipboard (as template) : Tin Types by Prima Marketing
white gesso : Pro Art
ink : Petal Point by Colorbox, Mix Media Inx by Donna Salazaar
white gel pen : Sakura
modeling paste : Reeves

After painting the background paper with gesso, I add the yellow washi tape and draw some lines on the edges. I mixed the modeling paste with paint to obtain a salmon color, and used it with the stencil in several places. I added stripes of chaled paper and washi vertically, and stamped with blue ink the line with spikes pattern. I stamp the heart with pink ink on one side
I made spot of blue paint with a toothbrush.
I cut 4 rectangles of paper in different sizes, crushed them, and chalked them with blue and pink before placing them on the layout.
The journaling is written in white first and overwritten in dark blue.
I used chipboard number to draw the title, and added some lines to it.

This month we have a new sponsor :

They are offering a $50 certificate to the winner ! So grab your stash and create !
