DCWV tag card holder

Hello !

I did bring papers and cutter to the mountain and made another gift card holder, and this one will maybe remind you a tag I did last year with the Candy Cane Lane stack by DCWV...

On one tag you can add some text (from/to), on the back of the other, the gift card. I just add some Walnut stain distress ink to the edges and a red satin ribbon.

See you tomorrow for a surprising holder...

The little red giving card

Good morning !

I told you muscles will get back to me... I'm walking like a granny today ! But my hands were strong enough to create another gift card holder !
It's a card, with fussy cutting on the front...

and more fussy cutting on the inside ! The branches are glued under the white paper only, and hold the gift card. The papers came from a Christmas pad by Recollections (found at Michaels this year).

3 gift card holders to go ! You still have time to comment and follow to enter the giveaway...

Altered tin : a gift card box

Hello !

Ok ok ! I'm late today too ! What's my excuse? I was riding ! Want proof ? Look at me and my daughter :

We had a lot of fun together today... My muscles will get back to me tomorrow...

So, what do we have as my creation of the day ? A mix media tin !
I was in Texas two weeks ago, and JoAnn has this crazy sale where I found Christmas tin a 70% off. So I got this one for 60cts and planned to do a mix media gift card holder with it...
Here is the result :

I cut and glue a paper from the Santa's Journey pad (7Gypsies) on the top of the tin with Mod Podge Mat, add paper tape (Canvas Corp), C-Flute Kraft (Canvas Corp), a paper snowflake painted with light gold metallic paint (Tattered Angels), and some flowers and buttons with gesso, misted with Barn Red glimmer mist (Tattered Angels) and painted with Light gold Metallic (TA).

One more, 4 to go...
We are getting closer to the end of the giveaway, don't forget to comment and follow...
See you soon !

Christmas wreath card

Hello from the mountains  !

That's why I'm late for this post today... I was traveling from my home to our beloved mountains for our Christmas vacation...

Today's idea is a paper Christmas wreath where you could insert a small card to hold a gift card !

I made the cut with my Cricut and the Christmas/Noel cartridge. It's the last image of the cartridge, and I have never noticed it until now. I was badly looking for a new idea and was reviewing all my cartridge for that when I found it...
The cut is made at size 6 1/4" to fit the gift card, and instead of the scalloped card of the cartridge, I just fold in half a rectangle of gray paper and embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder to hold the gift card.
The papers I used here came from the Winter and Christmas cardstock stack by DCWV.

5 more days for me to create and for you to participate in my giveaway. Just comment on one or several posts between the 9th and 24th of December and follow my blog to enter the giveaway and you could win a 12x12 stack by DCWV !

See you tomorrow for another gift card holder...

Snowflake ornament as gift card holder

Man ! It started to be difficult to find new idea everyday until Christmas' eve !
Yet I still had another one...

I made a hang-able 3D snowflake where you could slip a gift card into it...

I use once again my Cricut with the Winter Lace cartridge for the design. I cut 4 identical snowflakes and 4 shadows at size 5 1/2" into Christmas papers (Recollections). After gluing every snowflake with its shadow, I fold them in half and glue first two half of two snowflakes together and did the same with the other two snowflakes. I glued then only the edges to create a 3D object, but I let an opening on the top large enough for a gift card...
You could attach a little name tag on it if you plan to decorate your tree with a bunch of them...

For now I have no idea of what I would create for tomorrow ! So stay tune to see if I will fullfil my personal challenge... and don't forget to comment and follow to enter the giveaway !

Paper snowglobe

I love this particular gift card holder ! I find the idea while looking at Pinterest, where I saw gift card into snowglobe made with mason jar. I decide to recreate the globe effect with tracing paper :

I stamped a Christmas tree (Hero Arts) with Memento black ink on the tracing paper, cut it in a circle shape (Martha Stewart circle cutter), then added color with Copic markers and white gel pen. Before adding some white snowflake punches into it, I sewed the edges, letting an opening at the bottom.
Then I glue two rectangles of Kaisercraft paper (one larger to fold over the other) over the globe.
You can slip a gift card into it by the bottom of the base.

Don't forget to comment and follow on one or several posts between the 9th and the 24th of December to enter my giveaway. You could win a 12x12 DCWV stack !

See you tomorrow !

Santa's bag

Hello !

Santa stopped by my my house earlier this year and left one of his bag...

OK ok... I made it... but it's cute, right ?
I use a rectangle of burlap fabric, sewed with a jute cord along the edges (Canvas Corp). I glued resist alphas misted with Barn Red glimmer mist, both by Tattered Angels, on the front the bag with fabri-Tac. A piece of ribbon and a small tag (from the Jolly Christmas Saying paper by Canvas Corp) attached with a mini black clothespin finished the project.

It's just the right size to slip a gift card into it, so I can count it for my 22th gift card holder !

Have a great day and see you tomorrow !

Tag card holder

Hello !

I was playing again with my Cricut yesterday and made not one but two card holders. I used the Mini Books cartridge (p46 of the handbook) and the new Christmas paper pad (Recollections) I bought at Michaels last week. It's good to have new toys to play with !

This design cut the envelope and the tag in once, I made two to switch the tag and the envelope.

The gift card can be attached to the back of the tag with repositionable adhesive.

The giveaway is still running, so if you want a chance to win a 12x12 DCWV stack, follow and comment on one or several post between the 9th and the 24th of December...

See you soon for another design !

Card and kisses

Hi !

How about adding some sweetness to our gift card holders today ? And what's better than Hershey's Kisses to do that ?

I used a white glitter sheet, silver snowflakes sheet (KI Memories), a epoxy word (Heidi Swapp), and 4 Hershey's kisses of course !

If you want to recreate this gift card holder, you can use this model :

You can punch a circle in the middle of the right top side to take easily the gift card off.
Glue glitter paper can be tricky, so I recommend to use a fabric glue to adhere the snowflakes to the white glitter paper.

I hope you like this one too. I think it's one of my favorite (or maybe it's just the chocolates...).

Christmas cracker

Hello crafters !

One of the tradition my family and me discovered and appreciated during the holidays when we lived in the U.S. was the Christmas cracker. We even brought box of them back to France when we were traveling in December...
I know that usually they are filled with small gift or candy, but why not a gift card ? So it will be my next gift card holder !

DCWV has a stack with Winter party favor boxes with one template for a cracker and by chance, a gift card can perfectly fit in it ! I just change the edges of the cracker by using my own craft scissors instead of the initial pattern. Few ribbons to make a bow at the edges and you're done !

Only twelve days until Christmas now... Don't forget to comment and follow if you want one more gift for Christmas (a 12x12 DCWV stack !)...

See you tomorrow !

White Christmas favor box

Change of colors for today ! We will have a white Christmas box !

This box was made with template found in the envelope stack by DCWV (same stack but different pattern than this gift card holder), as well as the white paper.
The flower was also cut into a golden foiled paper (DCWV).
here is the box once opened :

I placed a foiled paper inside to hold the gift card. You could also put a note or a sentiment on the paper.

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you tomorrow !

Christmas mailbox

Hello !

Having a cute envelope for your gift card is great, but having this envelope in a Christmas mail box is even better !

Today I used a Cricut and a cartridge created for Valentine's day to create my Christmas project. This cute mailbox has a heart punch on the flag, but I replaced it with a snowflake to winterize it (is that a word ?).

The papers came all from the Merry Memories stack. Press the button "fit the page" to cut your design (cartridge Love Struck).

Once the mailbox opened, you can fit inside a small envelope (final size 3 1/4"x4 1/2") with the gift card...

Don't forget to comment and follow if you want to participate (or not, I like comments...) to my Christmas giveaway, where you could win a 12x12 DCWV stack (see previous post for details).

Shoes lover's gift card holder

Hello everyone !

Be prepared to see something original for this new gift card holder... I made cute paper shoes with a matching box !
If you're following my blog since a little while, you already saw this kind of box. They are French cookies tin... I altered one in pink, and another one was altered as a tea bags gift box.

I made the shoes with a Sizzix die and Recollections papers, and decorate the box with a paper from the same collection and the same ribbon (Hobby Lobby).
The paper shoes fit perfectly in the box and hold the gift card inside.

As I love the die, I made two other designs of shoes to show you the versatility of these cuts :

Dont' forget to follow and comment to enter my Christmas giveaway, there is a 12x12 DCWV stack to win !

Thanks for looking and see you tomorrow for another gift card holder...

Winner, new giveaway and a DCWV Star box

DCWV has a nice stack with Christmas ornaments, and when I saw the cute tiny star one, I knew I had to do something with. As it was too small to put a gift card in it, I just made a copy of it at 300% (3x), cut the templates and use it on Merry Memories paper (DCWV). I glued all the sides except one to slip the gift card inside and put a nice bow on it made with Bowdabra (it's a gift or what?) :

Isn't it cute ? You also could add a ribbon to hang it on the Christmas tree...

Soooo... Are you curious to know the name of our lucky winner of the DCWV banners stack ?

Congrats to Kelly R. and thank you for your kind comments ! She improved odds by commenting on several posts.

The Sizzix die I used to create this project is a mini album die... But I can create whatever I want with it, right ? So I did a gift card holder !

When you open it, the central parts flip and reveal the card.
You will need 6 die cuts to create this project.

Materials used :

- Jolly Christmas saying paper (Canvas Corp)
- Green and red diamonds on white paper (Canvas Corp)
- Prima Marketing flowers
- red dotted ribbon
- Sizzix mini album die
- crystal embellishments
- Walnut Stain distress ink (Ranger)

Front opening gift card holder

Hello !

Less than 3 weeks before Christmas ! I did some shopping this week end, but not done yet... For those last minute gifts, the gift card is still a good choice if you have the good holder ! Here is another idea for you :

This one open on the front, a small white and red twine hold the opening closed.
The central design is a die from Sizzix, and the papers are from the Merry Memories stack (DCWV). The inside of the card is blank for your own text.

Let a comment on one or several or all gift card holder's posts and be a follower of my blog by tomorrow night to enter the first giveaway...

Cricut golden gift card

Hello everyone !

Once again I used my Cricut machine to create another gift card holder. This one is in shape of a gift, and the gift card can be hold inside with a paper banner.

I used papers in gold and red from the Mercury Glass stack, plus a light blue paper from the Old World stack and a dark blue one from the Winter favor boxes stack (DCWV).
The design of the gift and the sentiment came from the Christmas/Noel Cricut cartridge (plus shadow and blackout), and I cut the card into the same shape. It fit into a 6"x6" envelope.

You will have until Tuesday night to comment and follow on one or several gift card holder's post to enter the giveaway and maybe win the banner stack by DCWV !

I wish you a happy Sunday and hope to see you tomorrow.

Snowmen gift card holder

I didn't show a lot of fussy cutting these days, so let me change that... I pulled out an old Recollections pad from my stash to create this card, with hand cut snowflakes, snowmen and other cute Winter things...

The base is a 6"x6" blank card, cover with papers. But before adhering the inside,  I score lines in the middle, and 1.5" from this middle line on each side of it.
Then I cut out a almost flat rectangle between the middle and the upper scored line, centered, to create an opening for the gift card.
The inside was glued except for the part between the two scored lines.
I just had to decorate the rest of the card with the cut Winter designs. I adhere the snowflakes with 3D foam adhesives.

You still have few days to follow and comment on one (or several...or all !) of my gift card holders to enter the first giveaway with a banner stack from DCWV as prize ! The winner will be announce on the 9th...

Have a great Sunday !

Gift shaped gift card holder

Hello ! How are you ?
My holder of the day is ... a gift.
Nothing fancy in the cut, but I thing the bow is making a huge difference. I made it with the Bowdabra tool, because I really don't know how to make a beautiful bow without it...

So if you flip the top, you can pull off the gift card with a piece of ribbon. The papers I used are from an old Recollections Christmas pad. The ribbon came from Michaels too (Celebrate it) and glued with fabri-Tac (Beacon Adhesives).

Dont' forget the banner stack from DCWV who's in need of a new home... One lucky winner will be announce among those who left a comment and follow my blog before the 12/9...

See you tomorrow...

DCWV December card challenge

Here we go ! After the layout, the card challenge ! This is what I create :

I used the Merry Memories stack by DCWV and some of my very last of white crocheted lace (Luckily, I'm in Texas right now, and will hunt every craft store for every kind of laces before going back to France...).

Here is the DCWV sketch :

The little blue bag

What about a cute handbag to hold your gift card ? Sizzix has the cutest die for it. It's a Bigz XL bag with handle and flap, means that you need the longest pad for it.

The bag is cut into the Holiday Glitzy Glitter paper (DCWV), the tag is from the Winter favor boxes stack (DCWV). I added flowers and leaves (I Am Roses) to make a cluster at the top.

Did you comment already on one of my card holders' posts ? If not, do not hesitate, by doing so, you will enter my giveaway featuring a banner stack by DCWV ! So follow me and comment each day if you want !

See you very very soon...

DCWV December layout sketch

December is Christmas time  ! (just in case you didn't notice with all my gift card holders...)

Aren't they cute my beautiful daughters ? This picture was taken few years ago, just before going to see Nutcracker...

Christmas tree card

Hello !

Today, my gift card holder is a Christmas card made with my Cricut and the Wild Card cartridge :

I use two different DCWV papers for the shape and its shadow, plus a small piece of golden glitter paper for the star.
I cut small section to mark the corners of the gift card before adhering the red paper (Merry Memories by DCWV) inside the card.
The sentiment is cut from the same cartridge at size, twice. Once in green paper (Christmas Creations), another in white. And I glue them together with the white one making the shadow of the green one.

Support me in my "gift card holder" marathon and join me tomorrow to discover the next project...

Hexagon gift card holder

Hi there !

Once again I used the envelope stack by DCWV.

Once the paper cut with the template, I adhered another paper on the back and cut it with a small margin (on the other side, white). The gift card is hold by 4 triangles of paper. I cut a small snowflake from the red paper and put it on a 3d foam adhesive to close the box.

OK. 23 gift card holders to go... who's with me ?
Don't forget the first giveaway : you'll have to follow and comment on one of the gift card holder's post to enter. The first winner will be announce on the 9th. the prize will be a banner stack from DCWV !

December Stuck?! Sketches challenge layout

Stuck?! Sketch has two fabulous sponsors for this challenge :
May Arts Ribbon with a $25 gift certificate and Shopevalicious.com with a $20 gift certificate

Here is the sketch :

and my take on it :

I wanted something bright and flowery for this layout, and I the perfect papers were waiting for me in my old stash... a Tiffany's paper pack by We R Memory Keepers, used several time already, but still loved.
I just added some Walnut stain distress ink (Ranger) over a stencil (Prima Marketing), but everything else came from this paper pad.

See you soon...
