Happy Holidays card

Happy Sunday everyone !

A simple sketch for this 29th card using  once again the kraft snowflakes paper from the North Pole Gazette pad...

The cad base was made with the black and silver stripes paper, kraftsnowfles on the front, and green pine branches paper cut with the stitched rectangle die I used a lot these previous days... I just outlined the stitches with a black pen. Then I place vertically the kraft/Green stripes border and added a fine stripe of journal paper in the center. Journaling tag cut from the tag sheet on the top and the card was done !

You have today and tomorrow to comment on my cards (not only these two but the previous ones too !) to enter my 30 cards before Christmas giveaway ! Don't let the Christmas prize slip away !

Merry go round...

Hello fellows !

Back with a red and black card, with some die cuts and a fussy cut sentiment :

I started by make a 3 1/2" x 4 7/8" card base with red paper with deers from the North Pole Gazette pad (Recollections / Craft Smith). I added a 3 1/8" x 4 3/4" black rectangle on the front. I add 3 small stitched rectangles (Cottage Cutz) left over from another card, that I matted with cream paper, cut another rectangle to fit the other side of the card, and a stitched circle in black matted in cream.
The sentiment was on a journaling sheet, I just cut it off by hand.

Love the look of this one ! This is my card n.28, two more cards before Christmas ! Don't forget to comment on my other cards too to enter my giveaway !

Thank you for stopping by, I know everyone is pretty busy with Christmas preparations.
Have a great day and see you tomorrow !

The card base is made with a 8 1/2" x 5 /12" fold in half to create a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card. I added the red glitter paper in 4 1/8" x 5 3/8", cut the plaid border and the merry christmas strip from the borders sheet, cut the tags from the countdown sheets, and added the hand cut snowflakes from the red glitter paper on 3D foam squares.

We have few more days until Christmas...Still time to enter my giveaway ! Don't forget to comment on my cards (each card's comment is a chance to win !)...

All about glitter...for Christmas

Hello !

Welcome back if you stop by already to see my Christmas layout today, or simply welcome if it's your first stop here ! It's my 25th Christmas card and it's a very glittery one !

Base of the card in black paper, square cut from the countdown sheets, central snowflake hand cut from the red glitter paper and sentiment from a border sheet. All of these papers came from the North Pole Gazette pad (Recollections / Craft Smith).

Don't forget to comment on this card too to enter my giveaway, and see you tomorrow for another card !

Christmas layout

Hi !

Finally a Christmas layout ! It's not all about cards, right ? I made this one for the Art Anthology blog, with a lot of their mediums on the background...

Background is built with stencils, inks, paints and fine pen. I drew the poinsettias with an old Dreamweaver metal stencil and a black pen, and then paint it with the Ruby Red Shine medium by Art Anthology.

I also use a red pen with the Chevron stencil and black ink pad with the Dot Matrix stencil, before adding ink in brown Warm and black Raider with a brush.

I also splattered brown, black and red ink (Indulgence Minx) over the page.
I re-colored the kraft paper (DCWV) with the Ruby Red Shine. It is an ink resist paper, so the color revealed the pattern of the paper.
What else can you spot on this page ? Tissue tapes (Tim Holtz), black bling, kraft embellishments (Maya Road), red and black flowers (Prima Marketing) and two die cuts (one negative strip and the title).

If you want to see how I create this layout, you can watch my video tutorial here or on my YouTube channel (BonjourScrapValerie) :

Thank for your time, see you later today for another Christmas card (my giveaway is still running...) !

Merry Christmas and plaid deer

Hello there !

More kraft and less red this time for my 24th Christmas card !

5 papers from the North Pole Gazette pad (Recollections / Craft Smith) and one die (the deer head from the Holiday set by Litlle B) to create this card...
I choose the silver/black stripes paper for the card base and the kraft snowflakes for the front. I cut small banners from two different papers and use the red plaid for the deer head. The kraft tag and black plaid came from one image from the journaling tag sheet.

Only 6 more cards to go before Christmas, and before closing the giveaway, so don't forget to comment to enter and maybe win a prize on Christmas day !

Have a wonderful day and see you tomorrow !

Christmas card with windows

Hello !

I used two dies from the same set this time to create my new Christmas card :

After cutting the red plaid panel with the largest die of the set (double stitched rectangle by Cottage cutz), I created 3 smaller opening with the smallest die of the set. I outlined the stitches with a white gel pen, and place 3D foam adhesive squares on the back of the red panel.
I glued a piece of black paper with white pine branch on the card base and under the red paper, and added a small tag cut from a journaling sheet. All of the papers came from the North Pole Gazette paper pad (Recollections / Craft Smith).

That was my card n.23. 7 more to go... Hope you already commented on the 22 others to enter my giveaway !

Have a great day and see you tomorrow...

Kraft Christmas card with red glitter snowflake

Hi there !

Let's start this new week with a clean card sketch but with glitter...

The red glitter with white snowflakes from the North Pole Gazette (Recollections) is the base of this card. The tag and plaid paper are one element cut from a tag sheet, sentiment tag from another one.
The central snowflake came from the same paper than the base, and by chance the snowflake die (Little B.) that I had fit perfectly one of the snowflakes on this paper ! Both the sentiment tag and the snowflake are mounted on 3D foam adhesives.

Thank for your time reviewing this post. Don't forget to comment to enter my giveaway. And see you tomorrow for another Christmas card !

Let it snow : a Christmas card

Happy Sunday !

After all these cards (see my first Christmas card and giveaway post), I already have a bunch of scrap paper that I needed to use... That what you can see in this card, I tried to avoid trashing small bits...

So the base is a black paper rectangle with pine cones and branches folded in half. I cut two small rectangle out of journal paper left over. The tag is cut out from another sheet (the one with the borders from this North Pole Gazette paper pad by Recollections). Two left over strips, one cut on one edge with decorative scissors. The sentiment came from another sheet, but it fit perfectly the tag.

My 21th Christmas is made from 7 different sheets of papers ! Good way to optimize your paper pad !

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope to see tomorrow too ! And don't forget to comment to enter the giveaway...
Have a great day !

Glitter dots and Winter tree card

Hi there !

Back to traditional color, red and green, but at the end, this card doesn't look traditional at all !

The kraft and the clean sketch gives a modern look to this card.
I used two dies on this one : a double stitched rectangle by Cottage cutz and a tree by Little B. I outlined the edges of the rectangle and the stitches with a green gel pen by American Crafts. the tag was cut from a journaling sheet from the same pad (North Pole Gazette).

We are getting close to the 30 cards, as this one is the 20th !
I wish you a god Saturday, and hope to see you tomorrow...

Naughty or Nice ?

Hello !

Red glitter is back again ! This red glitter and white snowflakes paper make a good base for this card :

I added the black paper (from a huge wreath sheet of North Pole Gazette pad) in the front center, a tag from another paper and sentiment cut with the Naughty or Nice set by Spellbinders. Nothing fancy but a fun card to make.

That makes card n.19. You should have made 19 comments on my Christmas cards by now, haven't you ? It could be 19 chances to win my Christmas prize ! What are you waiting for ?

I'm out for a Christmas party tonight. Good thing I made all my cards in advance ! The one for tomorrow is ready... So see you tomorrow...

Today's card was very simple to make, all the element except the bow were on one sheet :

Hi there !

Base is a black/white plaid rectangle fold in half. I used a journaling tag (with the holly in the corners), matted with candy stripes paper. I cut the red circle with a stitched die (Lawn Fawn), the tree shaped phrase with a Spellbinders die, and the wreath with a Little B die (cut 3 times).

I assumed you like cardmaking... Sooo, don't miss the sale going on at Scrapbook.com, it's the last of their 12 Days of Christmas sale ! 12 great brands are on sale, you will find up to 50% off cardmaking products, and there is the last freebie, a Simple Stories Color Vibe 6x6 paper pad !

Joyeux Noel / Merry Christmas card

Hi everyone !

This is my first card in French this year ! Red glitter and black, with a nice sentiment frame fussy cut.

As for all my card this Christmas, I used papers from the pad (North Pole Gazette) to create the card base too. Here it's the red glitter with white snowflakes one, a 8 1/2" x 5 /12" rectangle folded in half.
The strip of music paper is not from a music sheet paper, but from a detail of a journaling sheet. I cheated a little bit, because this music strip wasn't big enough to go from a side to another of the dots paper, so I just cut it and hide the hole behind the frame.

Thnk you for stopping by for this 16th card. Don't forget to comment to enter my current giveaway, and see tomorrow for another Christmas card !

Happy Holidays card in plaid

Hello again !

Finally a card with fussy cutting ! You know that is my favorite activity, don't you ? It's relaxing and challenging at the same time... So here I hand cut all the pine cones and branches one by one !

The base is in black polka dots paper, I made a border with decorative scissors in the paper that looks like a journal, took a black tag from another sheet and finish with a rectangle in plaid paper at the same length than the tag.
I placed the cones and branches just under the tag to make a composition overflowing the plaid paper.

We are now halfway of my 30 cards before Christmas, I hope you enter already my giveaway, but if not you still can by commenting on one or more of my 2018 cards (see this post for details).

Today is also a new day of sale at Scrapbook.com, and it's matching perfectly my posts, as they have 20 to 50% off on cardmaking ! The 12 Brands are still on sale, and the freebie of the day is a Prima Marketing Floral pack - Troika Plum !

I hope I gave you some inspiration so far to create more Christmas cards. I also hope you enjoyed mine, and you will come back tomorrow for another one !

Have a great Monday !

Tree shaped Merry Christmas

Hello !

A very simple card today with just one die by Impression Obsession :

Base is a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangle cut in the red deer paper, folded in half. Creamy paper has already the plaid and kraft borders on its design, so I just cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/4" rectangle in it, and applied the merry Christmas (shaped as a tree) cut in black paper.

It's the 14th card, we are almost halfway of the 30 cards. Did you comment already on the one I showed you ? Some of you have really increased their chances of winning by commenting on almost every cards ! So keep your eyes on the prize and start commenting ! See the first post for details and picture of the prize...

I hope you have a great Sunday, and I will see you tomorrow...

Silver and green make a good team !

Hello !

Let's have a change of color today with a card mostly silver and green...

The base is a 10" x 7" rectangle cut into a silver stripes paper, folded in half to make a 5"x7" card.
I cut the journaling square tag and match it with the green pine paper, and add two mats in silver and red papers.

As you have seen, my cards this year are simple and quick to make. I really wanted to show the potential of a paper pad (here the North Pole Gazette by Recollections) without the cost of fancy cards. They are still handmade, but you could give them without fear of them being tossed in the trash. Better, you could make a bunch of cards and donate them to hospitals or charity...

Thank you for stopping by today, have a wonderful Saturday and see you tomorrow... Don't forget to comment to enter my giveaway !

Season's greetings card

Hello !

Nothing fancy today, I just use the borders available on the pad to create this design :

Base is a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" black rectangle fold in half. I added a 4 1/2" x 4 1/4" rectangle in plaid paper and the borders I found in the pad for the background. The square is a countdown tag and I masked the number  with a red circle tag matted with another circle cut in black with a die (seal from the Hipster 1 set by Spellbinders).

You could win a die cutting/embossing/stamping combo (see this post) by commenting on this card (or any other cards), so show me some love before leaving !

Have a great day and see you tomorrow...

Be merry card

Hi everyone !

A black and red card with some plaid pattern today, and one die cut... That makes my 12th card before Christmas. If you don't know it yet, I have a giveaway running and you could simply enter by commenting on my cards. It's 30 chances to win. Take a look at this post for details and prize.

The base is in red deer paper, I added the black border with a decorative scissor, cut the red tag from one sheet, and mat it with the black plaid. The sentiment is cut with a die from the Spellbinders Naughty or Nice set.

Dies are very useful to create cards, easy and quick to use but also inexpensive compare to stickers to create sentiment. They also have 12 brands on sale like Sizzix, Tonic Studio, Prima, Lawn Fawn, We R Memory Keepers, Ranger, Doddlebug Design, American Crafts, Simple Stories, Echo Park, Photoplay Papers and Art Impressions ! Peace and Joy card

Hi there !

Back to kraft and red for this new card :

A lot of layers with two tags and a snowflake die cut (Little B). You can not see it, but te base is a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangle fold in half, from a very cute kraft sheet with red deers. All the papers and tags came from the same paper pad I used for all my cards since day 1, the North Pole Gazette (Recollections).

Did you know that the offer of the day at scrapbook.com is on die cutting ? Beside the 12 hot brands on sale, you will have 20 to 50% off die cutting ! And don't forget the freebie, today it's a Tonic Dot N' Drop die - Paisley ($13 value) !

Hello,

Red and black are all over the paper pad I used for my 30 cards, so here is another one...

Base is a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangle fold in half. I cut the black frame from a journaling sheet from the pad (North Pole Gazette, Recollections), and the red frame from a sheet covered with Christmas saying. Both frame are mounted with 3D foam squares to give some dimension to the card.

If you're new to the blog, there is a giveaway going on until Christmas. Have a great day !

Fall meet Winter canvas

Hi there !

I'm glad to see you today with a project for the Art Anthology blog :

It's a small canvas where I used gel mediums to paint this landscape with small brushes. The effect is different than acrylic paint and the colors vibrants.

The colors I used are : 50 Shades and Silver for the background, red Desire Velvet, orange Tango Velvet, Portobello Velvet, Gold Metal Effect for the leaves and Tuxedo and Onyx Shine for the trees.

I am no artist painter, but it was fun to create it and I like the result. You should try it too !
I made a video for you if you want to see how I did it...

Thank you for stopping by. You can come back later, I will have another Christmas card for you...
Have a very nice day !

Can I have some glitter with this Christmas ?

Happy Sunday !

It's time to have some glitter on my cards, don't you think ? Here is my 9th card with red glitter...

Last year, I bought this cute die set with trees by Little B and I'm glad I can put it in use this year too ! I was a perfect fit in the center of the kraft journaling tag. I add a cut sentiment , a border with holly, and a red glitter border cut with decorative scissors.

You don't have glitter paper ? You can add sparkle some with glitter glue... It's the freebie of the day at scrapbook.com ! A Ranger Ink Stickles Glitter Glue Frozen ! And that is along the sale of 12 Hot Brands (Ranger, Sizzix, Prima, American Crafts... and more) at 20 to 50% off and for the last day only 20 to 50% off Tim Holtz products too !

Believe - A Christmas card

Hello everyone !

Day 8 of my 30 cards before Christmas giveaway ! If you're new to this blog, check out my first card to see rules and prize...
Another red and black card for today, with three dies and one black pen :

The base is a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangle fold in half. The red paper is cut with a double stitched rectangle die rectangle by Cottage Cutz, the circle is cut with a Lawn Fawn stitched die, and the believe came from the Naughty or Nice dies set by Spellbinders.

It is very tempting to add a flower or a ribbon to these cards, but I did stick to my rule to only use scissors and dies with the papers... I only outlined the stitches with a black pen.

If you want some dies to create your Christmas cards too, now is a good time to do so because scrapbook.com has 12 hot brands on sale during the 12 Days of Christmas Sale, plus 20% to 50% off Tim Holtz products and today only a freebie : A Ranger / Tim Holtz pack of 2 Distress crayons !

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope to see you tomorrow too !

Christmas delivery card

Hello again !

Still playing with my papers and this time I used a circle die and a 3D bow punch :

The Christmas delivery stamped image is hand cut but the black circle is not. I used a stitched circle die by Lawn Fawn on one of the square countdown tag of the pad.
The punched bow add some nice dimension to this card. I made it with the Fiskars Bow tie punch. By the way, Fiskars has an incredible customer service. I used the punch once before the upper part was defective, so I contacted the customer service and they sent me a remplacement punch right away ! I received it in few days ! And so I can use them on my cards !

We are now in December. It's day 7 for my cards, my daughters started to open their Advent Calendars, and it's also the first of the 12 Days of Christmas at scrapbook.com ! You will find 12 Hot Brands on sale at the same time ! And today you will have a freebie with every order : an exclusive Vintage Girl 6x6 paper pad by Photoplay ! Hurry, this freebie is today only...

Don't forget to comment on this post (and on the others 2018 cards for more chance) to enter my giveaway. Have a nice Saturday and see you tomorrow !

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas card

Hello !

Another card with a die, still cut from the North Pole Gazette paper pad (Recollections) :

The card base is a 10"x 7" silver and black rectangle fold in half. The tag matted with red is a journaling tag from the pad. I cut out 4 snowflakes that I placed on 3D adhesive foam on its corners.
I found this die by Spellbinders lovely, this Christmas phrase in shape of a tree is really cute.

Let me remind you about my giveaway : 30 days, 30 cards before Christmas. Comment at least on one of them to enter the giveaway. The more cards you comment, the chance you have to win. Being a follower is not mandatory but really appreciated. Look at this post for details and prize.

Have a wonderful day and see you tomorrow...

Advent calendar made with Cricut

Hello !

In Europe, we have this cute tradition called Advent calendar. I know in the States you have the 12 days before Christmas, but this is different. This calendar start on December 1st and stop at Christmas. You have an opening window for each day, with a surprise inside. The most common ones are filled with chocolates, but we can see more and more of brands making their own, a lot with beauty products. I have two daughters, and one love the beauty surprises, the other one doesn't care, preferring kawaii (cute japanese) surprises and food.
Well I decided (again) to create one for each girl, and I did it with the help of my Cricut and the Tags, bags and boxes cartridge.

I cut a box <purse2-h> for each day, with different sizes from 7" to 4", using the "A Winter's Night" paper pad by Recollections. I had it for $5 on sale and made two calendars with only half of the pad !

One of the design sheet was ornaments with number : it was perfect for my calendars as the pad has two of this sheet ! So I cut each number/ornament, and made a small hole to attach it to the bag.

Each bag has a string (different lengths), and I arrange them by number, with the 1 on the front, so the girls can pick one bag without disturbing the others.

By the way, the Black Friday deals are still available on the Cricut website, and until the Nov, 30th there is a coupon code for free shipping : FREESHIP49 (for $49 order and up). You could have a big box under the tree in time for Christmas...

My Cricut is always very helpful to create personalized gift. Take a look at the Advent Calendar I made in 2016.

Thank you for stopping by today. See you soon for another project...

A red crown for Christmas

Hi !

Finally a die has been used on my cards ! It's a die called Countesses Crow (Crafter's Companion), normally used as an edge, but I made it my center element :

The card is cream, cut from the center of a sheet with design on two corners (the one with pine tree and deer from the North Pole Gazette by Recollections). The red part is one piece only : I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" rectangle and then run it twice with the die (once reverse) to have this design. I cut the tag from another sheet and use a left over from black paper to cut the small ribbon with decorative scissors.

We are now at day 5, I hope you like my cards so far. Don't forget to comment if you want to enter my Christmas giveaway.

I will have another post later today about the Advent Calendar I made for my daughters (yes, 2) if you want to take a look...

Have a great day, and see you later...

Square Christmas card

Hi there !

Kraft and black again for this new Christmas card, but with silver this time !

I use the sketch of a card I made for Fall sometimes ago, with a different sizing. This is a 6x6 card with 6 different papers on it !

This is the 4th card out of 30. If you haven't done it already, comment on at least one of the 2018 cards to enter my giveaway and maybe win something extra for Christmas ! See this post for details...

Have a very nice day and see you tomorrow...

Plaid Merry Christmas card

Hello !

Something a little more traditional for this third card, with plaid, reindeer and pine tree !

Still no die or decorative scissors in this one, only my craft knife and glue. I just outlined the kraft border with a black pen to make it pop from the background. Base still is a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" fold in half.

If you just arrived on this blog, there is a giveaway going on until the 24th of December. See this post for details. Don't forget to comment on one or more cards to enter it !

Have a wonderful day and see you tomorrow...

Believe Christmas card

Hello again !

Day two of my 30 cards before Christmas giveaway ! If you're just jumping on this, see yesterday's post for rules and prize...
Black is kind of the new green for Christmas in the paper pad I use, you're gonna see a lot of it in my cards...

I couldn't resist to cut the cute believe banner to make it my sentiment. The red snowflake was a countdown tag and the small banner covered perfectly the number.
The base of the card is a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangle fold in half. I just layered few other papers under the snowflakes.

Don't forget to comment if you want to enter my giveaway. If you are looking for inspiration, take a look at my Christmas projects from the past years (see the tags on the top of the blog). There is no two alike project !

Thank you for stopping by today, hope to see you tomorrow too !

30 cards before Christmas giveaway is back !

Hello everyone !

I hop you had a great Thanksgiving and you now are ready for Christmas ! That's right ! We are only 30 days away from Christmas, and that means I will start to show all the 30 cards I made this year...

If you are new to this blog, know that it's been several years now that I run a little giveaway during this month, where I show a card each day and you show me some love by commenting on them. And on Christmas day I will pick a winner for my giveaway ! Basically, the more comments you made, the more chance you have to win...

Every year is slightly different, so for 2018 I decided to use only ONE paper pad to create these 30 cards (no blank card!) ! The only tools I used were scissors of all kinds and dies, all already in my stash. I think everybody will agree that we prefer to keep our money for gifts than for cards... So I even go deeper in saving by using a paper pad I bought for $5 ! It's not a cheap one, good acid free cardstock with treatments and all... It's one of the Recollections Christmas paper pad you can find on super sale like always. This one is called North Pole Gazette. I even had enough papers to create more than 30 cards (maybe I will show more than one on some days...).

Well, let's start with the card, and I will show you what you could win on Christmas day after...

This first card is super simple, in unusual colors for Christmas but elegant. The paper is full of patterned papers, no plain color, and it's not always easy to create with this amount of patterns ! But you will see that I managed to mix them without difficult (or maybe just a little sometimes..).

The base is a sheet cut into a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangle, folded in half. Create your Art Journal pages with stencils and stamps

Hello there !

I'm on the Art Anthology blog today with a new mixed media project :

I started by spraying Timeless and Warm Colorations over the pages, stamp designs all around and add more colors with Poppy, Chocolate, Kenyan Copper and Leaf Sorbets. I also added a little of Gold Metal Effect to it.

The stencils I used with the paints were Bits of Grunge and Blocked stencils by Art Anthology too.
For my journaling I decided to use an acrylic journaling tag I added since forever in my stash, just panted nto in green and gold and write with a black Sharpie on it.

I made a complete video tutorial for you if you want to know more about this process :

Thank you for stopping by today, I will see you soon with another project...
Have a great day !
